Thesis

Private-market investing in Europe needed a modern product layer - clearer access, better UX, and a European brand that could become the default gateway.

When Snowball was rising, private markets still felt like a network sport: who you know, which SPV you can join, how opaque the paperwork is. The US conversation around retail alternatives was loud. Europe had capital and ambition, but fewer products that made the category feel native and trustworthy.

That is usually when category leaders appear: when demand is real and the UX still looks like 2014.

Why this mattered

  • Access products win by trust and distribution, not by one clever deal.
  • Europe's investor base is large enough to support a local champion.
  • Whoever owns the interface owns the habit.

The bet

Snowball's value is turning private-market participation into a product instead of a scavenger hunt. The thesis is European leadership in that access layer: the place people come back to when they want into private markets without reinventing the process every time.
